Unscreened Top Soil is delivered out of our stock piles as is. It is variable depending upon what source it was collected from. It is likely to have lumps, rocks and roots in it. It is not recommended for do-it-yourself projects that do not have the assistance of professional equipment.

Asphalt Sand is a coarse washed sand used primarily in the production of Asphalt Mixes. This sand is the result of crushing and is typically the most angular of sands available. Because it compacts it works well as a leveling course under pavers or flagstones. It is a good abrasive sand that works well for skid resistance.

Abrasive sand is coarse washed sand that works well for aiding in traction on snow and ice covered roads. At our Springville plant we machine blend it with salt at a range of ratios from 50%/50% to 90%/10% for winter maintenance customers. We have the option of adding magnesium sulfate to our blends to increase the melting capabilities of the blend. Abrasive sand is variable in gradation depending upon what plant it comes from.

Oversize is generated in the process of screening Bank Run Gravel. It is not a washed product, so oversize piles tend to have some Bank Run Gravel mixed in. Oversize is sorted into size ranges of 2 to 3 inches, 2 to 6 inches, 4 to 12 inches, 8 to 18 inches, 18 to 36 inches, and 36 inch plus. We generate oversize at Collins, Freedom, Great Valley, Chaffee, and Springville, but always call to check on availability. This product is the unprocessed millings from road building projects. Its top size is variable, but mostly 4 inch minus with lots of fines mixed in. This product is good for heavy duty parking lots and driveways. When properly applied and compacted it can result in a rut and pot hole resistant surface.
